1. Overview
This article provides the steps to capture XPaths for Android devices.
2. Prerequisites
- Make sure Emulator or Real Device is connected.
- To install Electron Scraper, refer to Setting Up for Electron Scraper.
3. Using Electron Scraper for Android Devices
Perform the following:
- After connecting to the real device or an Emulator, launch the Electron Scraper.
- Device Name and UD ID of the connected device will be displayed automatically.
- Update the required App Package and App Activity. For more information on fetching App Package and App Activity, see Fetching App, see How to fetch App Package and App Activity.
Click the Run Button.
- Screen loads till the app launches in connected Real device or an Emulator.
- App is launched in the connected device.
- Enter Valid Screen Name. Screen Name can accept alphabets, alphanumeric, space, underscore, Starts with alphabets/Number/Underscore.
Click on Scrape Button.
Current screen in the Real device or Emulator appears.
Details of the scraped elements will appear in the tabular format.
Element of particular XPath will be displayed in the right when user clicks on Show element.
You can delete the line items using delete icon, add a row by clicking the add icon and search for a particular element in the Search Box.
You can update the Screen or Page Name in the Screen Name text box.
Scrape all the required elements and click the Download button to download the scraped elements in the CSV format.
3. Using Electron Scraper for iOS Devices.
After connecting the simulator, when you select device name as iOS, then device name and UDID will be displayed automatically. You have to update App Name, URL and Bundle ID. Click Run and follow the same procedure described in the preceding steps and Download the required file in the CSV format.
