1. Overview

Mobile-site applications are web applications that work on mobile devices through a browser. They provide a simpler option compared to native apps, especially when you need compatibility across different platforms. To scrape mobile-site applications, algoscraper tool, which is available as an extension in the developer tools panel is used.

2. Scraping Mobile-site Applications

Perform the following:

  1. To access algoScraper extension, repeat the steps described in the Overview section of Using algoScraper in the Developer Tools Panel.
  2. Navigate to the algoScraper extension available in the Developer Tools Panel.
  3. To view the application in the Mobile site, click the Toggle icon available in the device toolbar or press Ctrl+Shift+M keys on your keyboard.
  4. If you choose to scrape all the UI elements, then click the Scrape UI button in the algoScraper window to scrape all the UI elements.
  5. If you choose to scrape an individual element, then click this icon or press Ctrl + Shift +C keys on the keyboard and click the UI element you wish to scrape to capture the details in the algoScraper window. Make sure to select the icon listed in the previous step each time you choose to scrape an individual element.

  6. Download the scraped file in the CSV format using Download button available in the Scraper window and upload onto the Profiler window in the algoQA platform. For more information, see How to Upload Existing Scraped File.
