1. Overview

Cross Browser testing helps you in verifying website compatibility. algoQA platform integrates with automation testing tool, such selenium to test the web application on multiple browsers. In the article, Chrome and Edge browsers are considered.

2. Prerequisite

Ensure that you have installed both Chrome and Edge browsers. If not, refer to provided links(Chrome Browser and Edge Browserand follow the on-screen instructions.

3. Configuring Application Settings file

Perform the following:

  1. algoQA scripts generated follow an organized folder structure. Search and locate the ApplicationsSettings.XML file. 
  2. In the ApplicationSettings file, update the 'Browser Type' parameter to either Chrome or Edge, as shown in the following example screenshot:
    For example, you can find Applications.XML file in an algoQA script generated folder for a web automation available at - ScriptGeneration_202310311222.zip\AlgoAFScript_202310311222\src\test\java.
  3. Save the changes.
